In transit, LED furniture quality is protected by its packaging. How thick should the foam be when packing LED furniture glass panels separately?

There is no single foam thickness that suits all models. The right thickness is set by glass size and weight and confirmed through sample carton drop tests. MODUGLE does not rely on one foam thickness for LED furniture glass panels. Each panel is wrapped individually, fitted with corner protectors, and kept separate from the metal frame.

EPE foam (expanded polyethylene, a soft cushioning material) thickness should be matched to the model. The larger and heavier the glass, the more protection it needs. The 5-tier RGB LED glass display shelf (67 inches) uses 4 mm tempered glass (per product spec sheet; tempered glass is heat-treated high-strength glass that breaks into small granular pieces), with a static load of 77 lb (35 kg, per product spec sheet). The TC-ZWJ0015 LED wall shelf comes in widths of 15, 24 and 41 inches, weighing 5.71, 16.07 and 25.3 lb respectively (per product spec sheet). The three widths cannot share the same packaging.

A common misconception is that thicker foam is always safer. The correct approach is to first secure the glass in a position inside the carton where it cannot move, then determine the foam thickness through sample carton drop tests.

How should desiccant and moisture-proof film be used for LED furniture in sea freight?

MODUGLE protects LED furniture from moisture in sea freight with three layers: an inner moisture-proof film seal, desiccant placed next to particleboard parts, and a fully sealed outer carton. If any one layer is missing, moisture stays trapped in the carton.

The tabletops of LED furniture are mostly particleboard (a board made of pressed wood particles that swells and deforms when it absorbs water). The TC-ZWJ001 LED nightstand has a metal frame with particleboard, and the TC-ZWJ004 C-shaped side table has an alloy steel frame with a particleboard top. Temperature swings inside containers during sea freight easily cause condensation, so particleboard parts are the main focus of moisture protection.

A common mistake is dropping a single desiccant pack into the carton without sealing the bag opening. The desiccant quickly becomes saturated, and moisture inside the carton still reaches the boards. The limits should also be clear: this method protects against moisture inside the carton. It cannot protect against container leaks or cargo exposed to rain. Those risks are covered by container loading inspection and cargo insurance.

What drop tests should LED furniture packaging pass, and what is the standard?

We do not currently use a single standard drop height. We follow the buyer’s channel requirements rather than applying one fixed height to all models.

Furniture varies widely in weight and shape. The TC-ZWJ0013 LED glass display cabinet weighs 83.6 lb (per product spec sheet), while the TC-ZWJ002 LED floor lamp side table weighs 5.44 kg (per product spec sheet). The same drop height means something very different for each. We recommend confirming the buyer’s channel packaging requirements before ordering.

Please note that certifications such as CE, RoHS, ETL, VDE, TÜV, UL, SAA, FCC and EPA cover electrical safety and environmental compliance. They do not prove that packaging can withstand drops. Our factory is certified to the ISO 9001 quality management system, and test reports can be supplied with the shipment. Packaging is verified separately through sample carton tests. LED furniture quality is ensured by both types of verification together.

What damage rate triggers compensation for LED furniture, and who bears the cost?

There is no industry-standard damage rate for LED furniture compensation. MODUGLE recommends writing the damage rate threshold and liability allocation into the contract before ordering, rather than negotiating after arrival.

Liability depends first on the trade terms. Under FOB (Free On Board, where risk passes to the buyer once the goods are loaded on the vessel), sea transit damage is usually claimed by the buyer from the insurer. Under CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight, where the seller covers freight and insurance), the insurance terms must be clearly stated. We recommend the contract specify three items: the damage rate threshold, the evidence required to establish damage, and the remedy (replacement or deduction from payment).

MODUGLE’s payment terms are a 30% T/T deposit (MODUGLE payment terms), with shipment after the balance is paid. The time to review the packaging plan and sample carton results is therefore before paying the balance. When asking for ex-factory prices for LED furniture, confirm whether the quote includes reinforced packaging. With an LED furniture manufacturer that quotes only a bare price, damage costs end up shifted to you.

Limitations: damage caused by buyer changes to the packaging, or by re-handling and transfer after arrival at port, is not covered by the factory packaging liability.

What is the replacement and reshipment process for LED furniture damaged on arrival?

For LED furniture damaged on arrival, MODUGLE can reship in-stock models at any time. Custom models follow a bulk production lead time of about 20 days (MODUGLE lead time basis, subject to order confirmation). Take photos as evidence first, then submit the claim.

Our lead times fall into two tiers, 7 days and 20 days: sampling takes about 7 days and bulk production about 20 days (both on a MODUGLE lead time basis), subject to confirmation based on order quantity and model. In-stock models ship at any time, so reshipping in-stock models is the fastest.

The process follows these five steps:

• Before opening, photograph the outer carton, including the carton, seal and labels.
• After opening, photograph the inside, including the damaged areas and the condition of the corner protectors and moisture-proof film.
• State the model, quantity and damage type, and submit them together.
• Check against the damage rate threshold and liability terms in the contract.
• Once confirmed, arrange reshipment as an in-stock or custom order.

Most LED furniture quality disputes stall on incomplete evidence. Without unboxing photos, it is impossible to tell whether the cause was inadequate packaging or rough handling in transit.

When is this approach not recommended?

If your custom order quantity is under 100 pcs, you compare only on bare price, or you are unwilling to validate packaging with samples, we do not recommend ordering under MODUGLE’s LED furniture packaging plan. In-stock models can still ship at any time.

The MOQ (minimum order quantity) for MODUGLE custom models is 100 pcs (MODUGLE custom order terms). If the quantity is lower, in-stock models are the better choice, and there is no need to set up a separate packaging plan for a small batch. If your budget looks only at bare price and you are unwilling to add corner protectors and moisture-proof film, this approach is also unsuitable, and you would bear the damage risk yourself.

Buyers sensitive to tariffs can ask about country of origin. MODUGLE is building a coordinated supply chain across China and Vietnam, and can allocate capacity according to tariff cost and lead time requirements. Samples are available, and the sample fee can be credited against a later bulk order, which suits buyers who want to validate packaging before scaling up.
